PHIL ANNETS’ STAT ATTACK STARTS THE NEW CAMPAIGN
HALF of the 736 clubs in 2019-20 FA Cup begin their campaigns this weekend in the Extra Preliminary round. It contains 19 Step 4 clubs, 277 Step 5 sides, and 72 Step 6 teams.
Some have FA Cup pedigree. Northwich Victoria and Chatham Town both reached the quarter-finals in 19th century. Fifty-five other clubs have also been in ‘proper’ rounds before – most recently, Westfields three years ago, having started at this stage.
Fifteen clubs are yet to win an FA Cup match having participated in it several time...
