HORNCHURCH put the disappointment of Bank Holiday defeat behind them with a well-earned victory over a strong Wingate & Finchley side.
In the second minute Gate keeper Shane Gore made a fine save as Mickey Parcell’s free-kick was glanced goalward by Matt Johnson.
Chris Dickson and George Saunders then went close for the hosts and Anthony Mendy curled a free-kick just over the bar for the visitors.
