GATESHEAD produced a second-half triple blast in their first league meeting with Boston United for 26 years.
The two sides went into the game with just one defeat in nine and two of the meanest defences in the league.
The Heed maintained their defensive record but Boston shipped three second half goals in nine minutes.
The Pilgrims were almost ahead in the first minute, Andy Thanoj’s free-kick inches wide. Boston almost scored from their first corner when Thanoj’s deep delivery was headed narrowly wide by Tom Platt.
