A JORDAN Parkes free-kick saw Billericay Town edge out Basildon United – and get new manager Jamie O’Hara off to a winning start.
The Blues found it difficult to break down the visitors in the local derby, but Parkes came off the bench and grabbed the only goal. Jake Robinson had a goal disallowed for offside early on and was then denied by a superb stop by keeper Clarke Bogard.
At the other end, Adam Vyse’s volley was kept out by Alan Julian.
