CITY of Liverpool returned to winning ways with a convincing display against Clitheroe.
The Purps took the lead in the 41st minute when a ball in from the left caused confusion in the Clitheroe defence. Tom Peterson worked it to the right of the area where skipper Luke Denson fired an emphatic first-time finish high into the roof of the net.
After the interval City stepped it up further and a hopeful pass forward saw Clitheroe keeper Connor King race out of goal, only to drop the ball under pressure from Jay Jeffries. Jeffries squared it for Bobbie Mc-Donnell to fire home...
