BASFORD United are up to second in the table after they edged out Gainsborough Trinity in a seven-goal thriller at Greenwich Avenue.
Gainsborough had the first chance of the game when Ross Hannah found himself one-on-one with Kieran Preston, who saved his shot with a fantastic dive low to his left.
Basford took the lead when Brad Gascoigne tapped home his first goal of the season from Matt Thornhill’s freekick.
They doubled their lead through Kane Richards, who headed home Ryan Wilson’s floated cross from close range.
