STALEMATE AS PURITANS CAN’T BREAK DOWN AFC

BANBURY travelled to Hayden Road for the second time in a week and dulled AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ sparkle after their midweek 2-1 league win.
It was a cagey first half played with both sides in less than fluent in slippy, wet conditions, but it was another entertaining game.
Banbury were largely reduced to efforts from distance with Pablo Haysham, Ryan Nesbitt and Charlie Hawtin all having good efforts blocked or put wide.
Alex Collard came closest for Diamonds early on with a header wide from a corner.
