Athletic slip to latest defeat

SCARBOROUGH Athletic suffered a third straight defeat as they lost at home to Lancaster City. It was a relatively slow start to the game from both sides but the hosts got the first chance, forcing a superb triple save from Sam Ashton to deny Michael Coulson, Pete Davison and Chris Dawson.
Scarborough then went close again, Coulson firing a shot on goal, beating the goalkeeper before taking a deflection and hitting the post and rolling out of play. The hosts continued to press but to no avail, and missing those chances cost them.
