■ A LATE penalty converted by Scott Vernon settled a tense encounter in favour of Cleethorpes.
Chances were at a premium in a competitive opening before Belper seized the initiative in the 26th minute.
Keeper Theo Richardson punched his clearance against teammate Sam Topliss and Nathan Curtis mopped up.
The home side battled back well to force the leveller shortly afterwards.
A floated left-flank corner was met by a firm forehead from Josh Lacey to send the sides in level.
