ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE
■ THERE were four games that survived the midweek rain, in three competitions.
In the league there was a real basement battle between Clapton and Sawbridgeworth Town, and it was the former who won 2-0.
Germaine Dua and Delmar Quent scored the goals which leave Sawbridgeworth nine points adrift at the foot of the table In the Errington League Cup, there was a thriller at Catons Lane as Saffron Walden Town beat Cockfosters 4-3.
Tyger Smalls scored after two minutes and a Nathan Scarborough penalty made it 2-0 but Cockfosters pulled a goal back, also from the spot.
