LEEK shaded a tight affair to remain top of the table, eventually holding out for a win at Kidsgrove.
The Blues started the brighter and took the lead with Lewis Short capitalising on a defensive slip before rifling home from 30 yards.
The goal galvanised Kidsgrove and they got their just rewards when debutant Kieran Coates found Anthony Malbon’s head for the equaliser.
The lead was short lived however as Marc Grocott slide in following another defensive slip.
