SPIREITES HARBOUR HOPE IN A WHOLE NEW ERA

CHESTERFIELD are ready to begin a new era on and off the pitch after sacking manager John Sheridan with a community-led takeover set to be completed.
The Spireites announced on Monday the Chesterfield FC Community Trust (CFC Trust) has “entered into a period of exclusivity” with majority shareholder Dave Allen to thrash out a deal by mid-February.
The Trust, a registered charity, hopes to secure a shareholding of 84 per cent which will end Allen’s tenyear involvement with the club.
