CLEETHORPES eased to a comfortable win against mid-table Sheffield FC on a very windy afternoon at Linden to maintain third place in the table.
Scott Vernon went close to scoring early on but his shot cannoned to safety off the bar.
The home side did nose ahead on 27 minutes though as an excellent crossfield pass from Curtis Bateson was latched on to by Jon Oglesby, who superbly lobbed the keeper from around 20 yards out.
Town continued to largely dominate into the second half but did not make the game safe until the final minute...
