Refs just can’t win either way

DO people ever stop moaning about referees? If they weren’t regularly assessed, people would say they were a law unto themselves.
However, when they are, we have people like Michael Venour (Fans’ Forum, January 12) complaining that the referee is under pressure to issue an inordinate amount of cards in order to swell FA coffers! The Referees’ Panel simply can’t win!
