ASHTON UNITED’S unbeaten run now stands at four games after a single goal proved enough to see of their high-flying visitors.
Their winner arrived just after the half hour mark when a rebound reached centre forward Louis Almond and he drove across the edge of the area before turning and steering a right-footed shot in to the opposite corner.
The visitors had started the brighter as a one-two between David Norris and Bradley Carsley put the latter in at a narrow angle but Robins stopperGreg Hartley was on hand to block.
