BOTTOM club Wingate & Finchley’s 93rd-minute winner closed the gap on the teams above them in the drop zone. Bilal Sayoud scrambled home Fumnaya Shomotun’s low cross from close range after Stortford keeper Fred Burbidge had earlier saved an Alphanso Kennedy penalty.
Stortford player/boss Jamie Cureton had an early chance, after Aaron Greene had dribbled through the midfield and defence, only for a great sliding tackle to deny the 44-year-old.
