DAN Creaney’s second- half header kept Tamworth’s title challenge on track as they edged past Hitchin. Chances were at a premium early on although Tamworth just edged proceedings, Ryan Beswick curling a free kick into the arms of Charles Horlock.
The game kicked into life on 25 minutes when Lambs sub Cameron Howkins was sent off three minutes after coming on for the injured Joe Magunda. Howkins was shown a red for pulling back Jacob Hutchinson and, although initial contact appeared to be outside the area, a penalty was awarded.
