ATHERSTONE TOWN chairman Brian Henney admits the Step 6 side’s preparation for their FA Vase quarter-final has been affected by the departure of manager Scott Rickards – but is backing his Adders underdogs to continue on their fairytale journey, all the way to Wembley.
Rickards, alongside coach Mike Fowler, quit in the wake of alleged racist abuse during last weekend’s Midlands League Division One match with Stafford Town, just two weeks before the biggest game in the club’s recent history (see page 2).
