KEVIN Maclaren is recalling the defeat he thought might land him the sack at Chertsey Town.
A 5-0 drubbing at home to Tooting & Mitcham in early December was the Curfews sixth game without victory in the Bet- Victor Isthmian League South Central and had seen them fall away from the promotion race.
