MICKLEOVER SPORTS were put to bed by FC United of Manchester at the Don Amott Arena with Tunde Owolabi shining for the Red Rebels.
The visitors went ahead in the third minute thanks to frontman Owolabi, who poked home from a few yards out following a cross from the left-hand side.
Owolabi nearly scored a second just minutes later but his header crashed against Mickleover’s crossbar.
Sports were riding their luck and once again they were saved by the woodwork when Morgan Housen-Smith’s shot hit the post.
