An eight-team play-off?

READING Neal Ardley’s suggestion of an eight-day resolution to National League (NLP, April 26) led me to realise that there is a very obvious way to resolve ALL of the promotion issues that is staring us in the face – IF it is going to be safe to play on that is.
How about starting with fifth place playing eighth and sixth take on seventh based on points-per-game, meaning Boreham Wood play Stockport County and FC Halifax host Barnet.
Yeovil and Notts County face the winners of those matches then the leading sides, Harrogate and Barrow, play off in the two finals against the two ...
