THE opening game of the season saw Pontefract Collieries and Runcorn Linnets share the points in what was a reverse of last year’s opening day fixture.
The visitors started brightest and took a deserved early lead, after just six minutes, through Craig Lindfield. He was played through and calmly slotted home.
Runcorn remained a goal to the good at half-time and deservedly so – Pontefract showed very little and looked frustrated.
