ROSS DENT’S goal proved to be the difference as Clitheroe edged past Prescot Cables in fiercely contested win at Shawbridge.
Dent’s 61st minute tap-in maintains Clitheroe’s 100 per cent start to the new season, following a 2-1 win last week against Brighouse Town.
The Blues were the brighter of the two teams throughout, but failed to capitalise on their chances and were almost left to rue several missed chances facing a barrage of shots before the whistle.
