NEWCASTLE came out on top of a close, competitive game by the only goal.
It was a tale of two skippers as Frickley’s Jonathon Margetts tried a clever chip from an early penalty that came back off the bar, whereas Town skipper was on hand to fire home from 12 yards from a good crossfield ball.
Town thought they had taken the lead when a shot from Joe Berks was turned in by Maxwell Chimenes but celebrations were cut short by an offside flag.
