YORK City are set to receive a £2.5 million windfall from Ben Godfrey’s transfer to Everton.
A £25 million deal has been agreed by the Premier League club for the Norwich City centre- back.
The 22-year-old, born in York, progressed through the Minstermen’s academy and made 15 appearances for the club in the 2015/16 season.
He was signed by Norwich for £150,000 and played a key part in their promotion to the top-flight in 2018-19.
Godfrey played 30 times last season as Norwich were relegated back to the Championship.
