DARREN OLDAKER produced a moment of magic to give Hythe all three points in a battling win at Reachfields.
The game started brightly for the Cannons, with a Liam Smith cross nodded just wide by Nick Dembele.
Herne Bay’s best opportunities of the half came from Bradley Stevenson, who broke through, but a last-gasp tackle from Dean Beckwith saved the hosts, before he then blasted the ball just over the crossbar.
