ASHTON UNITED’S recent poor form continued as Mickleover Sports easily took the points at Hurst Cross. It took the visitors only five minutes to get the scoreboard moving after Adam Owen’s square pass was intercepted.
That led to Paddy Webb being put clear by Stuart Beavon with Dan Eccles needing to make a decent save but the reprieve was only temporary as the resulting corner was headed home at the far post by James Butler.
Ten minutes later and Mickleover’s second goal arrived as Declan Bacon’s cross into the six-yard box...
