A DETERMINED late rally by Brig gave the struggling home team hope of a point, but Buxton held on to win a game they largely controlled after scoring a brace in a nineminute spell midway through the first half.
Brig opened brightly, but it was the Bucks who proved the more threatening.
After 16 minutes Diego De Girolamo’s turn and 20-yard low shot was parried on to the crossbar by loanee goalkeeper Matt Hudson.
