HOME COMFORTS: AFC WImbledon’s new Plough Lane stadium

TRANSFORMATION Wimbledon back to Plough Lane on the site of the old Greyhound Stadium, added to that I think it is worth a mention that it was also the home of Wimbledon Dons Speedway team for over 60 years starting way back to 1929.
Speedway was a massive sport in Britain just after the war and into the fifties. The top riders were household names throughout the country. Wimbledon rider Ronnie Moore won the World Speedway Championship twice.
