SUBSTITUTE Brad Ash scored the only goal as Chippenham claimed the three points at Welling.
Welling were the strongest team in the first period but the visitors were the brighter in the second and deserved their win.
The Wings’ Dipo Akinyemi had a great chance early on but with just Will Puddy to beat, he shot wide of the far post.
Then Lyle Della-Verde shot from 25 yards but Puddy saved comfortably.
