HAYWARDS Heath got their season off to a good start as a Tom Gilbert header gave them a half-time lead.

The hosts opened brightly and were unlucky not to have gone in with a bigger lead but as the half progressed East Grinstead visitors fought back but without creating chances.
The second period followed a similar pattern with the hosts on the front foot. The lively Sam Renfry headed a good chance wide early in the second half but within minutes a super cross from Tom Cadman was smashed home by Gil Carvalho.
