■ SUBSTITUTE Jordan Sarfo grabbed the only goal to give Hythe victory at Lancing.
Hythe keeper Henry Newcombe made two vital saves to keep his side in the game early on, the first from a low drive from James Rhodes and the second from a cross which curled in the wind close to the underside of the cross bar.
Lancing keeper Alieu Secka made a good save early in the second half.
Lancing came close when Matt Daniel was inches away from making contact at the far post from a cross from Joe Rye and Newcombe denied Finn Daniels-Yeoman.
