Southend United’s roughest of baptisms to National League life hit a new low, losing defiant goalkeeper Steve Arnold with concussion as they were eventually demolished by a confident Notts County.

SOUTHEND United’s roughest of baptisms to National League life hit a new low, losing defiant goalkeeper Steve Arnold with concussion as they were eventually demolished by a confident Notts County.
Arnold, whose saves had kept the Shrimpers in the hunt, ultimately went off with Notts leading 3-1 with manager Kevin Maher saying he had suffered a ‘knee to his head’.
