ST ALBANS City secured their place in the fourth round as they overcame ten-man Braintree Town on penalties.
It was the hosts who started the brighter of the two sides, and Callum Adebiyi should have given them the lead when he met Joy Mukena’s delivery and nodded it wide from close range.
On the 15th minute mark, the tie took a turn, as Braintree found themselves a man down following a poorly timed challenged from Marcus Johnson-Schuster on Huw Dawson, receiving a straight red as a result.
