■ LEEK Town opened the New Year with a comprehensive win against struggling bottom of the table side Market Drayton.
The scoreline could have been even wider but for the woodwork, which came to Drayton’s help on three occasions, and a string of fine saves from goalkeeper Ash Rawlins.
It was 2-0 after only seven minutes with early goals from Rob Stevenson and Will Saxon as the Blues threatened to run riot in front of a bumper crowd of 708.
