■ CLEETHORPES edged a hard-fought contest by a single goal against a resilient Bridlington outfit.
The home side dominated the first period. After squandering several chances, Sam Topliss grabbed the all-impor-tant opener, bursting through the inside left channel to fire in a rasping drive.
In front of a crowd in excess of 600, which included a decent contingent of travelling fans, Bridlington fought back in a much more even second half.
