■ WIDNES won a seven-goal thriller in a game that really warmed the fans.
Widnes forced early corners and Castle had a blow when Jack Van Der Laan went off injured but substitute Jake Lovett robbed a defender and raced clear to score.
Two goals in a minute from the visitors by Stephen Rigby and Alex McMillan put them ahead and a screamer from John McGrath put the visitors in control. Castle lost keeper Owen Mooney to a hip injury at the break with skipper James Askey taking over in goal.
