PUNISHED WOOD VOW TO APPEAL

WALSALL Wood say they will appeal after being booted out of this season’s FA Vase for fielding an ineligible player.
The Midland League Premier Division outfit were informed only on Thursday that they have been removed for fielding the player in their 1-1 draw against Anstey Nomads on December 18.
Yesterday’s planned fourthround visit to Wroxham was cancelled with the Nomads instead facing the Yachtsmen on Saturday after being reinstated.
The FA decision, however, is still subject to appeal.
