■ LEEK Widnes in a fine game at  Town saw off Harrison Park.
The game proved to be a great advertisement for the league with both teams giving 100 per cent in front of a decent crowd of 471.
It was an even first half with both sides having good chances but it was Leek Town who took the lead with defender Olly Harrison scoring from close in after 42 minutes.
In the second period, it was Widnes who played the more attractive football but after 70 minutes Will Saxon was fouled in box and up stepped Tim Grice to score the penalty.
