■ POINTS were shared in this dour encounter between two teams in need of points for differing reasons.
The first chance fell to Valley’s Rory Hill – his low 20th-minute drive saved by Wasps keeper Joe Ringer, before the visitors had their first effort on goal as Andrew Briggs’ free-kick was saved low down by Millers’ debutant Liam Northwood.
In a game of few chances, Marcel Barrington struck the foot of Ringer’s post shortly before half-time.
