A SHFORD came out on top of this vital top-of-the-table clash thanks to some clinical finishing.
A double from Jay May and a Gary Lockyer penalty secured the victory.
With only two points separating the five clubs chasing Hastings United at the top neither side could not afford to slip up.
The visitors started strongly and took the lead. With the ball bouncing around in the area, a flick from Lockyer into the path of May who wrong footed Keeper Jordan Perrin to head home after 10 minutes.
