AFTER a 4-2 defeat by Runcorn, Workington had gone on an 11-match unbeaten run.
They avenged that defeat with a deserved victory to extend that sequence which now includes six straight away wins. But this game, as an anticipated spectacle, was hampered by a difficult wind which caused problems.
Runcorn had it with them in the first half and went closest when Dan Wordsworth had to head clear from under the bar after an Iwan Murray corner had caused problems.
