NEWHAM VASE RUN CURTAILED

ATHLETIC Newham’s history-making run in the FA Vase is over after they were thrown out of the competition for fielding an ineligible player.
The Essex Senior League side were due to host Brockenhurst in a last-16 clash on Saturday February 12 – the furthest they have ever reached in the Vase.
But the Kings have been pulled up under competition registration rules following their impressive 5-0 fourth round victory at Littlehampton Town.
