■ VCD ATHLETIC shrugged off a poor first half to beat Ramsgate.
The best chance of the opening half came for Ramsgate when Denzelle Olopade’s cross-shot forced a great peddling-back save by Sam Mott in the Vickers goal.
The two sides had cancelled each other out in midfield but in the second half Vickers bossed the play.
They went ahead after 53 minutes when a corner was flicked on for Jason Williams to fire home.
Six minutes later, Lea Dawson made no mistake when he was allowed a free header.
Ramsgate had little sight of goal in the second half...
