SOUTH Shields youngster Sam Hodgson is determined to continue “picking the brains” of manager Kevin Phillips as he looks to extend his impressive goalscoring form.
The Mariners boss made a big call in his first week in charge when he selected Hodgson ahead of several of his more experienced team-mates for a home game against Witton Albion.
And his reward from the striker was a two-goal display in a 3-1 win and Phillips – he of over 250 career goals himself for the likes of Sunderland, Watford and England – has retained faith...
