■ POSSESSION counted for little as Spalding United held out for victory at Belper Town. The hosts had the lion’s share of the ball, but succumbed to a 33rd-minute free-kick from Ben Starkie whose 30-yard effort sailed into
the top corner to give the Tulips the lead.
Belper’s Karl Demidh went close to an equal- iser with a shot just beyond the far post, before his free-kick cannoned away off the upright.
