BOOTLE edged out 1874 with the odd goal in five. The hosts made the perfect start to the game as Ben Hodkinson cut inside and unleashed a fine curling effort inside off a post.
Michael Carberry played a great ball across the box to Tom Peterson, whose first shot was initially blocked then his rebound tickled the roof of the net.
