■ THERE was little to separate Whitehawk and Phoenix Sports on the Sussex coast in a keenly contested encounter as 17th hosted 19th.
The swirling conditions caused both sides problems. Harry Reed showed promise on the right-hand side, but was incapable of delivering an accurate cross. Rarely was a goalkeeper tested, half-time arrived with the scoreline untouched.
Phoenix pressed higher up the field in the second half, placing the Whitehawk defence under pressure.
