RIVALS Washington and Bedlington Terriers reckon they’ve blitzed their way into the record books – after playing out an epic FIFTY-FOUR spot-kick penalty shoot-out.
The Northern League Division Two sides created the drama during an Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup tie at the Ford Hub ground in Sunderland on Wednesday night.
With Terriers 3-2 up and on the verge of a place in the second round, Washington striker Brad Chisholm completed a hat-trick with a stoppage-time penalty to ensure the tie would be settled by a shoot-out.
