■IT WAS obvious from thekick-off that the wind was going to play a major part in this game, as both teams struggled to control the ball.
The early exchanges were evenly matched, with Spalding just having the upper hand.
Sutton took the lead in the 23rd minute when a great cross from debutant Tom Armitage was headed firmly home by Leo Brown.
